FPS to Provide Weekend Meals for Students

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.--The Fayetteville Public Schools Child Nutrition Department will provide weekend meal packs for students and for anyone age 18 or younger beginning the weekend of January 23-24. 

“We are pleased to be able to provide free weekend meals for our students and those age 18 or younger,” said Ally Mrachek, Director of Child Nutrition. “A waiver from the USDA makes it possible for us to offer these meals, and Fayetteville Public Schools is one of only a few school districts in the state to offer weekend meals.”

“We’ve long known the importance of providing nutritious meals for our students,” said Superintendent Dr. John L Colbert. “This new program will allow our students to eat healthy meals seven days per week. I’m thankful to our Child Nutrition Department for their outstanding work to make this possible.”

The same ordering protocol used for previous meal pack ordering opportunities will be used for weekend meal packs. On-site students will use the one-time opt-in order forms below and virtual students will order weekly online at www.myschoolbucks.com

For students who have opted-in to the district’s weekly meal packs program for the spring, the weekend meals will automatically be added to their order. 

One Time Opt-In

  • Hybrid 2 x 3: 2 days on campus, 3 days virtual
  • Hybrid 4 x 1: 4 days on campus, Friday virtual
  • Traditional: 5 days on campus

Weekly Online Ordering

  • Home Campus Virtual Learning (5 days virtual)
  • Fayetteville Virtual Academy (5 days virtual)
  • Siblings of FPS students; add to student’s order during checkout

How To Order:

 Hybrid 2x3 Days, Hybrid 4x1 Days, & Traditional Virtual Learning Days
ORDER BY: Monday, January, 18th at 5:00 p.m. 

Fill out the order form (English or Spanish) ONCE for each student to receive a meal pack weekly (meal packs will be sent home from school with students.) Complete one form per student, per campus, per semester. The forms will be closed on Monday, January 18th at 5 p.m. After this time, families may call the school cafeteria to opt-in or cancel. 
Weekly Ordering for Home Campus Virtual & Fayetteville Virtual Academy students ONLY First Due Date: Monday, January 18th at 12:00 p.m. (noon) for January 19th Pick Up

Ongoing - place order each Monday by noon
Home Campus Virtual and FVA Families will order WEEKLY by each Monday at 12:00 p.m. (noon) to pick up their 7-meal packs on the following Tuesday, beginning January 19th, at FHS at one of two pick-up times, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 4:30 to 6 p.m. Please enter the FHS parking lot from Buchanan Avenue. Orders will be placed via the secure online ordering system www.myschoolbucks.com.
