Washington Elementary third graders have been studying economics and creating business plans for a food truck. Today students had the opportunity to host a Food Truck Festival! Students toured a food truck furnished by a Washington parent and were able to ask questions and experience the real deal!

The University of Arkansas Optics Club (The LaserBacks) volunteered to teach Washington Elementary students how to create do-it-yourself pinhole cameras to view the 2024 Great North American Eclipse on Monday, April 8! Students used cereal boxes, aluminum foil, and strategically placed holes to complete the process. The pinhole cameras worked and are a safe way to view the eclipse if you don’t have solar eclipse glasses! Thank you, LaserBacks!











Today EVERY Wildcat walked away with a FREE BOOK at the annual Book Swap! Parents and students donated gently used or new books to Washington Elementary. Students then had the opportunity to pick three of these books to add to their own home library. 📚📖











Washington Elementary fourth grade investigators were busy solving mysteries today! Amazeum and TheatreSquared teamed up to create a fun and interactive show where students trained to become an elite group of spies in the “Super Secret Spy Society." Amazeum activities were brought to life by interactions with an exciting cast of characters, and through tinkering and teamwork, students became active participants in the play!
