Traditional students bring in your donation to school. Virtual students come to our drop off event in the front of Washington October 14th, 28th, and November 4th from 10:00-11:00.
Our goal is to collect 500 boxes of Mac n Cheese and 200 pair of socks. If we reach this goal Mrs. Mobley will stand on College Avenue during lunch time holding up a crazy sign and asking for honks! Virtual families can drive by and honk!

The Department of Interior on Wednesday said the federal government is waiving fees on national parks, wildlife refuges and other federal lands for fifth graders and their families who didn’t get to use a pass designated for fourth grade students when parks were closed at the height of the pandemic earlier this spring. The waiver is effective now and will be good through August 2021.
For more information and to download your voucher to get your free pass go to https://www.nps.gov/kids/fifthgrade.htm.
5th graders and their families will have free access to 2,000 public parks and locations across 400 million acres to hike, fish, bike, hunt and embark on more outdoor activities.
More Americans have rediscovered the great outdoors as a result of nationwide shutdowns. Indeed, a study from last month found that nearly 6 in 10 Americans reported a new appreciation for nature during the quarantine.
Getting fresh air is known to boost moods and mental health. Getting outside and being exposed to the elements has a myriad of benefits on mental health and wellness, a number of studies have shown.

FLU SHOTS FOR STUDENTS - Please read
Washington County Health Department WILL do a flu clinic at school for students, but it won't be until sometime in November. No specific date is scheduled yet.
The school nurse asked that parents be encouraged to go ahead and get their child’s flu shot this month at their doctor’s office, Owl Creek Clinic, or a pharmacy. October is considered the best month to get the vaccine to have immunity against flu during the height of flu season.
If your child is resistant to getting shots, you will need to get a flu shot outside of school. We will do our best to distract and encourage students to get the shot (if a parent signs up for the shot) but cannot restrain students in order for them to get the flu vaccine.

Washington Virtual Families- Please read our school newsletter just for you. There are important dates and fun activities for you!
