25 STUDENTS STILL NEED SPONSORS FOR HOLIDAY GIFTS!
Dear Families,
Many of our Washington Elementary School families celebrate holidays during the winter months. Each year we match children and families in need with families who would like to sponsor children for the holidays. Typically families reach out to me if they are in need of this help. A sponsorship includes gifts and clothing for a child. This typically includes two outfits a pair of shoes and several holiday gifts. Your family may be able to provide all of this or some.
If you are interested in sponsoring a child please let Mrs. L know ASAP. Simply send her an email expressing your interest in sponsorship and how many children (1 is typical) you would like to sponsor. She will have sizes and gift wishes to you by Thanksgiving break. Gift cards are also welcome if you don’t have the time or desire to do the shopping.
You can reach Mrs. L at tara.lechtenberger@fayar.net or 479-445-1072. She would LOVE to hear from you!!!

Parents, MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Washington Elementary Scholastic Book Fair is November 15th - November 22nd.
Every purchase from the book fair earns rewards for our school, so please stop by and support us. It will be open during the Thanksgiving Luncheon if you'd like to shop at that time.

Square One Art orders are due next week on Tuesday, November 12.
Please turn in the order with money to school. We cannot accept late orders. If not in by November 12, you have to buy them on their website and we don't get credit for the purchase.
If you have any questions, please email the
Art teacher, Mrs. Burden, at suzanne.burden@g.fayar.net or call at 444-3073.

Please contribute to our Mac and Cheese Food Drive. Mrs. L and The Random Acts of Kindness team is spearheading this drive for Washington Elementary. If they reach their goal, Mrs. Mobley will wear her clothes backwards and walk up the stairs backwards all day long! There will be a Mac and Cheese-ometer in the front hallway to see how close we are to reaching our goal so keep your eyes on that! Drive ends November 20th so get those Mac and cheese boxes in!

About Unity Day – Wednesday, October 23, 2019
TOGETHER AGAINST BULLYING. UNITED FOR KINDNESS, ACCEPTANCE AND INCLUSION.
Make it ORANGE and make it end! What are your true colors when it comes to showing that you believe that all youth should be safe from bullying? Come together in one giant ORANGE message of hope and support, WEAR AND SHARE ORANGE to color our nation, and even the world, visibly showing that our society believes that no child should ever experience bullying.
“ORANGE provides a powerful, visually compelling expression of solidarity,” said Paula Goldberg, Executive Director of PACER Center. “Whether it’s hundreds of individuals at a school wearing ORANGE, store owners offering ORANGE products, or a community changing a landmark to ORANGE, the vibrant statement becomes a conversation starter, sending the supportive, universal message that bullying is never acceptable behavior.”
